I went to see Moon at the Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) but it was sold out.

Has anyone seen this movie? No spoilers please.

No, but want to bad. Looks good.

Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 90% so it must be good.

My gf have tried to see it for several weeks now and haven't been able to get the cosmic powers to allow us. One of these days. It looks awesome. Very Kubrick-esque in parts.

this movie rocks. Kubrick-esque but with pacing that won't put you into a coma
two thumbs up, five stars
go see it

I'm seriously looking forward to this. I think BTE is going to see this (or who was it?) this weekend. I wanna see it ASAP.

It's really, really good. I actually thought of you when I saw it, dag, because I know how much you love sci-fi, and this is the type of intelligent, well-made sci-fi cinema that comes along so infrequently. It's kind of like a cross between 2001, Silent Running and a really good Outer Limits episode. It's definitely one of my favourite films of the year so far. And Sam Rockwell is amazing in it -- I was already a fan of his, but this movie made me respect him even more. Good stuff.

Gonna go see it next week. Playing at a local indie theater. Can't wait to see Sam Rockwell in this.

It's fantastic, a sci-fi movie for real sci-fi fans. Rockwell turns in a great performance, and Zowie Bowie has officially announced himself as a Director to be reckoned with. The special effects are done using old-school in camera techniques, like Ridley Scott used in Aliens. Seeing it makes one realize how much CGI sucks.

I was going to see it but I got drunk instead. I think later this week...yes...later..

i saw it. after scanning the then-upcoming summer movies, about 3 months ago, i told my buddy chris that 'Moon' was the only one i really wanted to see.

when summer came, i heard that it wouldn't even get a wide release, only opening in less than a dozen cities (NY, LA, etc), and then those copies get bumped on down to smaller markets. so i picked 'Public Enemies' as a backup, as i'm a big fan of the director, but it seemed like pretty well-worn material for him, bordering on tired.

both wound up playing on the same weekend, several weeks back. we wound up leaving after only an hour of 'Public Enemies', so we could catch an even-earlier-than-planned-on showing of 'Moon'.
having seen some torrents of other summer movies since, i still think 'Moon' was the only really good one.

Just to add some brief thoughts. Very good film, thought the music was too intrusive initially and that scenes actually needed silence to work properly.

Things improved as the story developed and Rockwell's performance really started to shine. Without that it might have been a bit lightweight.

There's a bit of exposition at the end I could have done without but aside from that great stuff.

I finally saw this last night. Left feeling elated. I realised it's not what I had expected. I thought it would explode into action at some point, but it didn't - was really measured and paced. Part of me wanted something else, though. I won't go into it due to the 'no spoilers' thing but by the time I had gotten home I had half the plot rewritten in the 'Kymbos' edit. Would be happy to elaborate but there would be spoilers.
