I'm so friggin glad they got rid of the stand alone episodes. That god awful "Black Market" episode literally put me to sleep.
Here's hoping that the new tv movie and the new prequel series in the works will continue kicking ass.
Fun fact, btw: all of my BSG-watching friends think 'Black Market' was a "pretty good" episode, even the ones that don't agree with me on how decent the finale was.
Isn't it?
If I advised somebody to watch Lost, I'd tell them to only see the first 4 episodes. It's been going downhill ever since for me. Worst offense on the writers behalf was, when showrunner Lindelof explicitly stated on several occasions sometime while Season 2 was airing that "there will be no time-travel of any kind in the show, ever".
Fast-forward only 1 and a half damn year, and the whole show revolves around time-traveling. How's that for writing yourselves in a freaking corner, n00bs?
Hell, I can even say with complete confidence that, as far as writing and season-arching-storylines (and non-moronic characters that actually talk to each other, you know, about STUFF) are concerned, Eureka (sci-fi adventure-comedy) and Bones (anthropological crime-solving-comedy), are also incomparably better than Lost.
just remembered another good show: damages. just the 1st season. extremely gripping.
^ also, gwiz thinks Lost is quality television.
I don't watch alot TV and when I do it's mostly football (soccer to you yanks). Lost is one of the few things I watch and one of the best shows on TV as far as fiction is concerned, can't beat a good docu tho.
Oh and this thread is about Battlestar Galactica. Funny thing is that alot of very different people told me that they enjoy this show. I just don't enjoy these shows that much. I do enjoy Scifi if it's good, but I'd much rather watch a movie. It's roughly two hours and has a beginning and an end. I don't like the whole deal with (multiple) sequels either. I think I'm gonna give it a go sooner or later, even tho I heard people are disappointed with the way they ended the show? Oh well, that was true for The Sporanos too, and I thought that ending was pretty good.
I feel so out of date...just started watching Full House.
It jumps the shark when one of the Olson Twins starts sleeping with Lance Armstrong. Lazy writing..
Colonel Tigh is very good and I've liked Edward James Almos since Stand and Deliver.
Rosalyn's little facial ticks bug the hell out of me - and she uses the business of taking off her glasses and putting them back on waaay too much.
I've found Apollo to be kind of a milquetoast pretty boy - but Baltar has had great pathos.
