It would indeed be a good idea if the system had an option to download your programmed route while still connected to the internet. Maybe it could predict if your route goes beyond cellphone coverage and only download the route for that part.

Just, kidding. Nice write-up and very impressive engineering. But basically it could be made, but current engineering team just don't have the guts. I do think that's a bit strange though, seeing how much effort engineers in professional motor sports put in, to gain the advantage.
